What is Is-Boycott?
Is-Boycott is a website dedicated to promoting ethical consumption and helping users to make informed choices about the companies they buy from. We strive to provide information and resources to help people decide which companies to boycott and for what.
Who we are
We are a very small group of independent researchers and activists who advocate for ethical consumption where possible. We want to make it easier for people to make informed choices about the companies they buy from. We believe in boycotting, divesting, and exposing companies that commit or support inhumane acts or work with entities that commit inhumane acts.
Our Research
All information that we provide is sourced from publicly available data and sources. We try to provide those sources to our users where ever possible so they can read and expand on the information themselves. We are not affiliated with any company or organization. We do not receive any funding or support from any company or organization. We are completely independent and rely on donations and support from our users.
There is always more information, companies, and brands to add to our database. However, our resources are limited, and we are constantly working on expanding our database, translations, and improving our research methods. The information we choose to include is based on our research, data we have access to, and current global and local events.
We strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information. However, we cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the data we provide, as it is based on other publicly accessible sources. We encourage our users to do their own research and verify the information we provide. Our research is limited to publicly available data and sources in specific languages (German, English, Arabic, Hebrew), and we do not have access to proprietary or confidential information. We are always looking to improve our data and research. If you have any suggestions or corrections, please contact us.
Terminology
At Is-Boycott, we use language that reflects the reality of what is happening, not the sanitized terms used to mask or justify oppression. We believe that language shapes perception, and refusing to adopt euphemistic or state-sanctioned terminology is part of resisting injustice.
- Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are referred to as the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF)
- We describe Israel as an apartheid state, in line with reports from numerous human rights organizations like Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International
- What is commonly referred to as the defense sector, we name the war sector, because its purpose is to sustain and profit from armed conflict and repression
