Dell
Dell Technologies is a multinational technology corporation that operates as a major military contractor providing hardware infrastructure for surveillance systems, AI-assisted targeting operations, and military activities globally. Dell provide extensive support for Israeli military operations through $150+ million in war contracts, provision of hardware for AI targeting systems used in Gaza, deep integration with NSA surveillance infrastructure, and is a priority target for boycott.
The Boycott, Divestment and Sanction Movement (BDS) have put Dell on it's priority list for boycotts due to its extensive support and complicity in apartheid Israel and occupation enterprise.
Israeli military infrastructure and AI targeting systems
Dell serves as the primary IT infrastructure provider to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, winning a $150+ million contract in January 2023 for servers, maintenance, and equipment. The company's hardware directly supports AI systems including "Lavender," which generated kill lists of 37,000+ Palestinians, and "The Gospel" automated targeting system designed to minimize human oversight in military operations.
Dell technology enables mass surveillance of Palestinian civilians by providing servers to AnyVision which uses facial recognition systems at checkpoints. Dell provides servers and laptops to Unit 8200, Israeli's cyberwarfare division. In July 2024, Dell sponsored the "IT For IDF" conference focused on improving military effectiveness during the Gaza genocide, while company personnel have mentored Israeli military hackathons for cyber war units.
Settlement enterprise and forced displacement
Dell, through its subsidiary EMC, participates in the Israeli Cyber Park project in the Naqab, established adjacent to Israeli military ICT Division campus as part of efforts to strengthen Jewish settlement while Palestinian Bedouin communities face forced displacement. EMC also received NIS 22.5 million from 2019-2024 for research and development activities supporting the settlement project.
U.S. NSA surveillance partnerships and military contracting
The company maintains deep connections to surveillance infrastructure, highlighted by Edward Snowden's employment as a Dell contractor from 2009-2013, where he worked on CIA sales accounts, pitching private-cloud storage systems for classified intelligence operations. Dell also has won a $794 million contract with the U.S. Department of War in 2014 to provide Adobe software licenses.
Dell owned RSA Security from 2016-2020, which allegedly accepted payments from the NSA to include backdoors in encryption products. The company currently holds billions in military contracts including a $2.5 billion Navy enterprise software contract and $795 million Adobe licensing deal.
Dell Technologies Capital: Funding the Israeli Security State
Dell Technologies Capital operates as a $1.8 billion venture fund directly financing Israeli military and surveillance infrastructure through investments in startups serving government and war markets. The fund maintains a dedicated Tel Aviv office to oversee investments in over 30 Israeli companies, many specializing in cybersecurity, AI targeting systems, and intelligence gathering technologies used in military operations.
Military intelligence and surveillance investments
Dell Technologies Capital has invested heavily in companies developing surveillance and intelligence gathering capabilities for military and government agencies. This include Toka, a cybersecurity company co-founded by retired Brigadier General Yaron Rosen, former Chief of Israeli Occupational Forces Cyber Staff, and Ehud Barak, former Israeli Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. Toka specializes in "lawful intelligence gathering" platforms for government agencies, providing technology that enables clients to manipulate surveillance camera systems.
Many portfolio companies explicitly serve business-to-government markets, indicating direct sales to military and intelligence agencies. The following is a PDF with a public list of Dell investments in Israeli startups:
