OneDrive
Microsoft OneDrive is Microsoft’s cloud-storage and file-sync service baked into Windows and Microsoft 365 for backing up, sharing, and collaborating on files from any device.
Military use
OneDrive for Business is certified for use in Microsoft’s Government Cloud, the same enclave the U.S. Department of Defense relies on for classified workloads. Through the department-wide “DoD 365” rollout, OneDrive has become the default cloud-storage and file-sync tool across military branches; even the Coast Guard has migrated its file shares. Microsoft now earns recurring fees for hosting a war data. This arrangement cements Microsoft’s profitability from the U.S. war budget.
