id Software is an American video game development studio owned by ZeniMax Media (now a Microsoft subsidiary). The company developed Doom and Quake franchises and several installments in the Wolfenstein franchise.

As a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, which is owned by Microsoft, id Software's games contribute to Microsoft Gaming's revenue streams. This makes id Software's products subject to BDS boycott campaigns targeting Microsoft due to the parent company's military contracts and technological support provided to Israeli operations.
