Xbox

Xbox, a video game brand developed and operated by Microsoft, offers gaming consoles, online services, and game studios. It also includes Xbox Game Pass, a subscription service granting access to a large library of games. As part of Microsoft’s broader gaming ecosystem, Xbox plays a central role in the company’s global strategy.

The Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement has targeted Microsoft, including its Xbox division, for its complicity in supporting Israel’s actions against Palestinians. Microsoft has supplied critical technologies, such as its Azure cloud platform and AI services, to Israeli military and prison systems. These tools potentially support the IOF practices of genocide, occupation, and apartheid against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

Microsoft’s gaming division, encompassing Xbox consoles, Game Pass subscriptions, and franchises like Minecraft and Call of Duty, represents a major revenue stream. The BDS movement calls for the boycott of these products to financially pressure Microsoft and its subsidiaries, urging the company to distance itself from Israel.
