IBM Ventures operates a $500 million Enterprise AI Venture Fund. Israel is a key geographic focus for the fund.
In July 2025, IBM Ventures participated in a $26 million investment in Qedma, an Israeli computing startup.
In August 2023, IBM Ventures invested an estimated $5-10 million in OX Security, an Israeli cybersecurity startup co-founded by former Check Point executives. IBM continued backing OX Security in its $60 million Series B round in May 2025, alongside Microsoft and Team8.
In September 2023, IBM Ventures joined the $23 million Series A for Gem Security, an Israeli cloud security startup founded by Unit 8200 graduates.
Unit 8200 Pipeline
IBM Ventures co-invests with Team8, the Israeli venture firm founded by Unit 8200 veterans. Team8's portfolio companies are staffed by Unit 8200 veterans who maintain reserve duty obligations with the Israeli Occupation Forces into their 40s. Unit 8200 has been implicated in developing AI-powered targeting systems used in Gaza and the 2024 pager attacks that killed Lebanese civilians.
IBM appears in the 2025 UN Human Rights Council report listing companies complicit in Israel's genocide. The BDS Movement has called for ending partnerships with genocide-enabling tech companies like IBM.
