8200 EISP

8200 EISP (Entrepreneurship and Innovation Support Program), also branded as "8200 For Startups", is a non-profit, no-equity Israeli startup accelerator founded in 2011 by the 8200 Alumni Association, the veterans' organisation of the Israeli Occupational Unit 8200. It runs a five-month program for early-stage Israeli startups, providing mentorship, workshops, office space, and access to the 8200 Alumni network of around 14,000 veterans. EISP states it has accelerated over 200 startups across 14+ cohorts, with cumulative fundraising over $1 billion and at least 10 exits.

Mentors and CEO/CTO advisors include partners at Israeli VCs Vertex Ventures, Grove Ventures, Strait Capital, and Essentia VC, alongside founders of companies acquired by Cisco, Microsoft, and Oracle.

Connection with Unit 8200

Unit 8200 is the signals intelligence and cyberwarfare unit of the Israeli military, responsible for mass surveillance of Palestinians across Gaza and the West Bank, including sexuality, medical conditions, and family relationships, to coerce them into collaboration with the occupation.A joint investigation by +972 Magazine, Local Call, and the Guardian published in August 2025 revealed that Unit 8200, used a customized Microsoft Azure environment to store recordings of millions of Palestinian phone calls from Gaza and the West Bank, and that this surveillance data was used to plan airstrikes during Israel's Genocide on Gaza. A separate investigation in March 2025 revealed that Unit 8200 is training a ChatGPT-style large language model on millions of intercepted Palestinian Arabic conversations, to expand surveillance, incrimination, and arrest of Palestinians.

Unit 8200's AI targeting systems — "Lavender", "Gospel", and "Where's Daddy?" — have generated automated kill lists of up to 37,000 Palestinians, with operators spending around 20 seconds approving each target.

The 8200 Alumni Association (EISP's owner and operator) exists to channel the contacts, and continuing reservist obligations of Unit 8200 veterans into Israeli industry. Founders and staff associated with EISP remain in the reserves until their early 40s and may be called up to active duty in the same units that conduct surveillance and targeting operations against Palestinians.

Corporate Sponsors

EISP is funded by corporate sponsors and partners, several of which are named in UN Human Rights Council report A/HRC/59/23 as complicit in Israeli apartheid and genocide, which mainly include Amazon Web Services.

Amazon is a listed partner of EISP through AWS. Amazon provides cloud infrastructure to the Israeli occupation forces through the $1.2 billion Project Nimbus contract and launched the AWS Israel Region with a $7.2 billion investment commitment through 2037. Amazon have also acquired multiple Israeli Occupational Unit 8200 companies.

Wartime Cohort

Following October 7, 2023, EISP and 8200 Impact ran a joint "wartime startups" cohort of 16 companies. 81% of the cohort's startups had founders or employees called up to reserve duty in the Israeli military since October 7, with 31% serving. EISP framed this as personalised acceleration adapted to "war constraints", embedding the program directly into the genocide on Gaza.
