Intel Capital
Intel Capital is the venture capital arm of Intel, which is on the BDS movement's priority boycott list for its complicity in Israeli apartheid. Intel Capital runs a Tel Aviv team that oversees 30 active Israeli portfolio companies.
Investing through the genocide
Intel Capital partner Lisa Cohen told Calcalist in January 2024 that four of the fund's five Israeli investments in 2023 were closed after October 7:
Intel Capital has been operating in Israel for 25 years, and they have not held a single discussion about the war with us. Last year we made five investments in Israel, four of which we closed after October 7. Intel believes in the Israeli economy and wants to seize the opportunities it offers.
Six weeks into the genocide on Gaza, Intel Capital joined the $208 million Series C of Tel Aviv's AI21 Labs. In February 2024 it co-led the $24 million Series A of BRIA, and it led a $15 million investment in Buildots. In September 2026 it joined Buildots' $130 million round led by O.G. Venture Partners, the fund of Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer.
Serving the warfighter
Intel Capital runs a public sector program that markets its portfolio to the US Department of War. Its head of public sector portfolio development wrote that more than 50 of its portfolio companies are "currently delivering, or with future plans to deliver, mission outcomes":
We are excited to enable the way you can leverage innovative technology companies to provide solutions for the warfighter.
Intel Capital led the $17 million Series A of Israeli sensor maker TriEye, which in October 2025 announced it would integrate its sensors into a special operations truck billed as the "world's first SWIR-enabled combat vehicle." Haifa-based proteanTecs, backed by Intel Capital since 2019 and again in 2025, collaborates with arms manufacturer BAE Systems on supply chains for war applications.
Backing IOF intelligence veterans
Intel Capital led the Series A of Zenity, founded by two veterans of the IOF's Unit 8200. Its Israel managing director holds Intezer Labs among his investments, a company whose CEO Itai Tevet held cyber leadership roles in the IOF.
Feeding Intel's Israeli acquisitions
Intel Capital led the $75 million Series B of Israeli chipmaker Habana Labs in 2018. A year later, Intel bought Habana for $2 billion.
